Bringing Vision to Life: From Concept to Buildable Reality
At Luby Hart Design, our work goes far beyond florals.
While we are often commissioned for statement installations, what truly defines our approach is the ability to translate creative vision into something that is not only visually impactful, but technically sound, buildable, and designed to perform in real-world environments.
A recent example of this was the Marc Jacobs Daisy Wild activation in Covent Garden. The project captured the balance between creativity and construction, and the level of detail required to bring an idea to life at scale.
Where Creative Meets Technical
Every project begins with a vision, but delivering that vision requires a clear understanding of structure, materials, and environment.
For this installation, our role extended beyond design. We worked across technical drawings, structural planning, and on-site coordination to ensure that every element could be realised seamlessly.
This included designing structural bases and concealed supports, integrating a water-fed system beneath the meadow installation, and ensuring durability within a high-footfall central London location.
Each decision was made not just for how it looked, but for how it would perform over time.
Designing for Experience
Installations like this are not static. They are walked through, photographed, and shared.
That means thinking carefully about how people move through the space, where their attention is drawn, and how they interact with key elements such as oversized florals and central features.
The aim is always to create something that feels effortless to experience, even though every detail has been carefully considered behind the scenes.
From Drawing to Reality
One of the most important stages in any project is the transition from concept into something that can be built.
Detailed drawings allow us to communicate clearly with fabricators and contractors, anticipate challenges early, and ensure accuracy at scale.
This process is what allows creative ideas to become real environments without losing the integrity of the original vision.
More Than Florals
Projects like this reflect a core part of our studio approach.
We do not just design installations that look beautiful. We design spaces that work.
By combining creative direction with technical understanding, we deliver installations that are both visually striking and fully considered in how they function.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to work across brand activations, retail environments, and large-scale installations, this approach remains central to what we do.
The most successful projects are not only seen. They are experienced.
