Why specify an artificial tree
A tree changes a room. Most commercial interiors cannot keep a real one alive.
A tree gives an interior height, shadow and a natural centre of gravity in a way that nothing else at the same budget does. The difficulty is that most commercial interiors cannot sustain one: no daylight, no drainage, a floor build-up that will not take the weight, and nobody on site whose job it is to look after it.
Artificial trees for commercial spaces remove all of that while keeping the effect. What separates a convincing tree from an obvious one is not the foliage; it is the trunk, the branch structure and the proportion. Off-the-shelf trees are made to a price and a standard height, which is why they read as decoration. We build to the space instead.
