The brief

A transitional space,
turned gateway.

Positioned on the 5th floor of John Lewis Oxford Street, this installation was designed to guide guests on their journey to the 1864 Rooftop Bar & Kitchen. Each element introduced a shift in atmosphere, gradually moving visitors away from the busy retail setting into an immersive oasis above Oxford Street.

Located just outside the lift, the installation created a sense of arrival and momentum. Layered planting, sculptural lines, and soft textures framed the 1864 brand signage, while subtle pops of lavender echoed the rooftop garden above, tying the journey together with calm and luxurious cohesion.

This project combined brand storytelling with biophilic design, transforming a transitional space into an elegant gateway to the rooftop experience.
